Copies of the following materials will be provided at the Institute and are included in the registration fee:

• KIDS As Planners: A Guidebook for Strengthening Students, Schools and Communities. Now in its second edition, a step-by-step guide for planning and implementing a service-learning project. The collective experience, wisdom, and vision of teachers, students, and community leaders have helped shape the tools and approaches described in this guide.
• Activities for Thoughtful Reflection: Connecting Service and Learning. This handbook is written for new and experienced teachers who want to effectively use reflection with students. Activities are provided, which relate to both developmental stages and learning styles.
• Selected readings on civic education and service-learning and other Web based resources.
• Various service-learning portfolio/project/curriculum exemplars

Participants who opt for graduate credits will be able to download copies and additional readings prior to and during the Summer Institute.
