Benefits for students are opportunities to:
- present their work - both portfolio and oral presentation - before a professional audience in the Legislative Committee rooms
- share their projects with students from across the state and see them present their policies
- attend an awards ceremony where one oral presentation is recognized as the best in Maine, and one portfolio is recognized and selected to represent Maine at the Annual Project Citizen National Showcase
|
KIDS Consortium will:
- contact your school district’s state representatives and senators to notify them that your class is participating in the State Showcase. If Legislators are in session the day of they showcase, they often make a point to visit with the students and attend their presentation
- send a press release for the media in your school district’s area
- make all arrangements for the day at the State House - provide lunch, organize the portfolio and presentation judging, plan the awards ceremony, State House tour, etc.
The 2008 showcase was a great success! Thanks to all who participated.
