Throughout the 2009-10 school year, students at Lisbon Central School (LCS) in Connecticut, will organize and implement the 2010 Green Schools Student Summit as their year-long service-learning project. KIDS is a guide along the way - the students will bring the magic!
Students who participate in the 2010 Green Schools Student Summit will share their projects with approximately 500 students from around the region to address a local need related to making schools and neighborhoods healthier and more environmentally sustainable (e.g. reduce non-renewable energy consumption within schools and other community buildings; use fewer consumable products to both save energy and costs; promote outdoor green spaces and trails; use more locally grown food to reduce transportation costs and energy consumption and improve nutrition; improve air quality in and near schools, etc.)
This page will be udpated as LCS student planners progress through their service-learning project. Check back frequently for details on location, date, and agenda.
